What to expect on the first visit ?
A typical first visit to a naturopathic doctor takes 1 to 11/2 hours. The visit involves extensive history-taking, a physical examination, Chinese diagnosis and
standard diagnostic procedures. The primary aim is to establish a good understanding of a patient's condition in order to develop a program for the patient's treatment, but it is also instrumental in determining a program for overall health promotion (health is defined as more than just the absence of a disease-it is a vital and dynamic state which enables a person to thrive and perform at an optimum level).
